Report from the “Missions” to Poland and China

In its twentieth anniversary, the Association has also considered the international perspective, bringing its experience to events and meetings. In particular, an AIdAM representative participated in the third edition of the International Automotive Business Meeting in Poland, while President Michele Viscardi and Director Massimo Vacchini took part in the Italy China Innovation Week.

In 2019, AIdAM celebrated its first twenty years of life: two decades where it has been committed on several issues, including that of internationalization. At the beginning of 2019, starting from the analysis of results and needs, interests and goals related to individual countries examined by the Association were reviewed. Specifically, those of little interest have been excluded, while others of greater attraction, such as Poland and China, have been included.

In Poland to talk about energy and electric mobility
During the year, several invitations were received to take part in events of great importance, which gave the Association the opportunity to make itself known. The last one concerned the third edition of the International Automotive Business Meeting (IABM), which took place in Dabrowa Gornicza on November 13th and 14th. An event dedicated to the future of energy and electric mobility in the automotive sector, in Poland and beyond. A two-day meeting, which was attended by some big names in the sector such as FCA, Groupe PSA, Kia Motors, Hyundai, Bitron, Brembo. Organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Poland, it was attended by high-level companies and authorities. An AIdAM delegate attended interesting interventions and participated in activities and meetings with other organizations, organized for information purposes. The participation of both Italian and foreign companies, belonging to the sector represented by AIdAM, was large; these included also some associates.

Cooperation with China for research and development
Another step recently taken for internationalization is the participation of President Michele Viscardi and Director Massimo Vacchini in the Italy China Innovation Week, an initiative promoted by Italy’s MIUR and its Chinese counterpart, the MOST. This is the main platform for cooperation between the two countries in the scientific and technological fields, aimed at creating both research and production partnerships. The mission included participation in conferences on research and development issues, workshops on Artificial Intelligence and a visit to the Sino-Italy Ningbo Ecological Industrial Park, a top-level modern demonstration park, where issues such as eco-sustainability innovation and culture come together.
