It’s been 20 years – it was 1999 – since K.L.A.IN.robotics, through the connection with Denso, a major Japanese manufacturer of lightweight handling robots, started its activity in Brescia. Now as then, the distribution of factory automation components to specialized system integrators is the main activity of the company, whose product portfolio has been gradually enriched: in these 20 years, K.L.A.IN.robotics has partnered with other important manufacturers: from the Korean Hyundai for larger robots, to the Danish MiR (Mobile Industrial Robot) for mobile robots, Eyefeeder for flexible feeding systems, F&P Robotics for collaborative robotics and Effimat for intralogistics. K.L.A.IN.’s relationship with Denso, on the other hand, has intensified, as in 2007 the Italian company became Denso “Europe Best Dealer”.
Not only cutting-edge products: focus on services and training
The products distributed by K.L.A.IN.robotics have so far affected several industrial sectors, including the building of assembly lines and special machines, machine handling and tending or industries such as cosmetics, healthcare, pharmaceutical, food, electronics, leak detection, fashion, eyewear, quality control with or without machine imaging as well as plastic moulding.
Focused on the Italian market and the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, K.L.A.IN.robotics today has three different offices and 16 collaborators, reaching a turnover of more than 7 million euro. Behind the growth of the company, in addition to the ability to find highly innovative products on the market, there is also the reliability of its services: from customer support and assistance, thanks to its skilled and qualified technicians, to repairs and preventive maintenance or rather a warehouse always equipped with original spare parts, also promptly delivered. The aim of the Brescia-based company is to help customers find the best solution to increase productivity by sharing their knowledge of production processes and automated solutions through simulations in the software development environment.
As for the Active Service, K.L.A.IN.robotics also organizes specific training sessions for the use of mechatronics products addressed to operators, programmers and maintenance technicians.
The “Educational” division and the new bin-picking solution
K.L.A.IN.robotics Educational is the recently created business division that offers robots for educational purpose, with the aim of providing students of Italian schools with new tools for learning and making technology.
Among the latest innovations introduced by the Brescia-based company is a solution that extends the range of products distributed in the field of bin-picking, thus allowing integrators to create new applications for gripping small parts in a very short time.
3D-CPS Fast, developed by the Research & Development team of ISS, a spin-off company of the Politecnico di Milano, is an innovative robot guidance system for gripping bulk parts from boxes.
The main feature of the new product, also highlighted by the name “Fast”, is the very fast scanning system which, in addition to not using mechanical movements, is equipped with the fast and accurate IR illuminator, also safe and comfortable (non-invasive light source) for the technician.
All these benefits make the tool compatible with applications based on the use of collaborative robots, that is to say without barriers between the robot and the operator.
