Automatic control for manual assembly
Visionlink distributes in Italy the RICOH SC-10A work assistance camera, which automatically controls processes during manual assembly, all in real time. It is very simple and intuitive to use, without the need for any special technical knowledge.
In recent years, product quality has become the main focus in manufacturing sector, especially for the constant detection of mistakes during the manual assembly process. For this reason, RICOH has developed RICOH SC-10A work assistance camera, which prevents process mistakes caused by human during the assembly of parts. Available for the Italian market exclusively from Visionlink, RICOH SC-10A is an all-in-one system including camera, optics and software for automatic control of the workflow. It is extremely easy to configure, because the image recognition software and the application are already integrated: you only need to connect mouse, keyboard and monitor to the camera to be ready to work. By the image recognition techniques, it’s possible to check manual assembly phases, identifying correct, incorrect and missing parts of the product. The system automatically compares each step of the work result with pre-defined images, reporting every possible mistake to the operator. It can also check colours, textures, character strings and barcodes.
An ideal solution for small companies
Another useful feature of the camera is the possibility to create and record the work instructions autonomously, without any technical background. This ease to set up feature make workflow instructions’ transfer simple, even to the inexperienced workers or the new staff. Thanks to RICOH SC10-A, in fact, new employee can be trained directly on the manual assembly line. Furthermore, settings data like work instructions or checkpoints prepared for one work place, can comfortably be copied into other RICOH SC-10A cameras. This camera even offers an assistance to the digitization process of manufacture workflow, because it can collect real time data like part’s serial numbers and actual working times, that can be used for process analysis, statistics and traceability. Therefore, real-time check of production increases the productivity efficiency, prevent human mistakes and make obsolete some preventive measures as the double checking of work. Then, this system is ideal for companies which offers small lot production of multiple product varieties, including measuring instruments and electronics device producers.
