Centre of excellence dedicated to software and electronics
Interroll has announced that it has acquired the Austrian company MITmacher. The acquisition will create a centre of excellence for software and electronics, based in Linz, to better support system integrators.
Swiss company Interroll announced at the end of January 2021 that it had acquired Austrian MITmacher. This will serve as the launching pad for Interroll’s new Global Center of Excellence (CoE) Software & Electronics, which will aim to better support system integrators. Besides the respective assets, Interroll takes over a highly qualified team of engineers and experts, which has a strong track record in software development, electronics, mechatronics, and engineering with focus on material handling as well the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT).
Continuity and novelty
The new CoE will be designed to assume global and cross-product responsibilities with regard to controls, software and electronics solutions. Within the new setup, the company will continue to support a number of previously existing projects with its consulting expertise. Andreas Eglseer, the founder of MITmacher, will be appointed as Managing Director of the new global CoE. The 42-year-old Eglseer, who holds a degree in Mechatronics and Business Management and founded the company at the beginning of 2015, will report to Jens Strüwing, Executive Vice President Products & Technology of the Interroll Group. The company will be renamed to Interroll Software & Electronics GmbH and will continue to operate from new premises in Linz, Austria.
