Ethernet industrial switches
Pilz presents Ethernet PSSnet industrial switches allowing to adapt the network’s topology to the layout of a plant in a flexible way. It is possible to obtain star-, tree- or ring-shaped topologies for an unlimited expansion of the Ethernet network. Availability of electric connection ports is also supported by optic interfaces for both multimode and single mode fibers, for connection distances which span miles. The range of Pilz industrial switches is subdivided into two families: PSSnet SLL (Switch Low Layer) switches, unmanaged switches for the SafetyNETp network and for Ethernet available with five or four electric ports, and an interface for multimode optic fiber; PSSnet SHL (Switch High Layer) switches, managed switches for the SafetyNETp network and for Ethernet available with six or eight electric ports, and two interfaces for multimode or single mode optic fiber. The management functions of the managed versions allow to configure networks with loop redundancies through a dedicated configuration software, or directly from the network with the web interface integrated in every device. Full compatibility with the Real Time SafetyNETp communication protocol ensures attainment of the highest functional security based upon EN 13849-1 and EN 62061.
