A Virtuous, Made in Italy Supply Chain
In compliance with international standards, FCM (Food Contact Material) fittings, manufactured by Titan Engineering, a Pneumax Group company, are suitable for food contact and the passage of food fluids. During the validation phase of these components, a machine comes into play, manufactured in compliance with European Standard 2014/35/EU and able to perform tests starting from the standards dictated by UNI EN ISO 1386:2001 and higher.
FCM Food Contact Material fittings) are the result of the Pneumax Group’s desire to produce components dedicated to a demanding sector such as the food & beverage industry which, in addition to guaranteeing reliability and high performance, comply with international reference standards. Suitable for food contact and the passage of food fluids according to European Regulations (Regulations) CE 1935/2004, CE 2023/2006, CE 11/2011 and contact with drinking water according to Ministerial Decree DM 174/2004, this series is produced by Titan Engineering Spa, a Pneumax Group company specialized in the design and production of brass, technopolymer or stainless steel fittings and components for the connection of pneumatic circuits.
Comprehensive tests on all materials, from plastic to brass
Adding value to the FCM series fittings are not only the food contact certifications, but also the conformity to the passage of food fluids, a requirement certified through tests carried out according to precise specifications thanks to a machinery introduced in the validation phase of Titan Engineering’s production process. The machine, manufactured in compliance with the European standard 2014/35/EU is able to perform tests starting from the standards dictated by UNI EN ISO 1386:2001 and higher. In this case the tests covered all component materials, already compliant with FC (Food Contact) standards, as well as POM (polyoxymethylene) and IXEF 1022FC (polyarylamide 50% PV) plastic parts and OT57 brass metal parts (CW510L low lead content, NSF/ANSI 372 certified). The certification guarantees the tightness of the components under pressure, not only with drinking water but also with other food fluids such as wine, beer and beverages in general.
The validation path covers the entire production chain
At the heart of the testing machine is the Mocareel rotary vane pump, which enables the necessary tests to be carried out to operate in significant food & beverage markets: from coffee and vending machines to bottling and food processing. The Pneumax Group has embarked on a path in line with the new EU Regulation 831/2018, now known by all those involved as MOCA. The validation process undertaken by the company involves the entire production chain, and has required the establishment of partnerships with suppliers able to guarantee, in their turn, compliance with the guidelines dictated by the certification bodies. This is a further virtuous aspect that characterizes the development of a product and that has led, at the same time, to a virtuous growth of an entire supply chain made up of Italian companies alongside Titan Engineering, confirming once again how made in Italy stands for quality and reliability.
