Industry 4.0-ready precision controller
MC600plus is Moog’s new controller with enhanced hardware and software that can be used with electromechanical, hydraulic and hybrid technology. Its computational capacity is increased. In addition, this controller addresses the growing need for solutions compatible with the most popular fieldbuses.
Moog enhances its MC600 range of controllers with the introduction of the new MC600plus release, which boasts enhanced hardware and software to anticipate the needs of an evolving market. The MC600plus is an all-Italian project, born from the talents of Moog’s team of engineers at the Presezzo (BG) production site who developed the hardware, firmware and application software for the PLC. The new release, like the other solutions in this line of modular components, is capable of dialoguing with pre-existing infrastructures and stands out for its performance, precision, digitalization, flexibility and fast cycle times. It is therefore ideal for numerous industrial applications such as, for example, injection and blow molding presses for plastics, packaging machines, machine tools and for metal forming, as well as for the testing and powergen segments. In order achieve the highest versatility, MC600plus is designed for use with electromechanical, hydraulic and hybrid technology and to be integrated with components with extremely fast
response times, such as those of Moog’s Total Solution.
The mechanical design withstands the most severe working conditions
Among the pluses that differentiate the latest version of the MC600 is the increased computing power and connectivity of the main CPU. In detail, the introduction of a quad core processor allows high frequency computing and the simultaneous management of complex processes, also by virtue of the Linux real-time operating system. Thanks to the OPC-UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture) protocol and Euromap 77/83, the solution is Industry 4.0-Ready, for easier data transfer between the controller and the MES (Manufacturing Execution System). The MC600plus is also the answer to the growing need for solutions compatible with the most popular fieldbuses, such as EtherCAT, CANopen and Modbus-RTU (fieldbus master) and Profinet (fieldbus slave). Mechanics has been specifically designed to make the components robust, compact (7.5×12.6×13.5 cm) and able to operate even in critical conditions, with operating temperatures ranging from -25 to +70°C. The programming tool for the MC600plus is MASS (Moog Application Software Suite), an easy-to-use tool based on the latest version (3.x) of CoDeSys and the IEC61131-3 standard, for the development of customized application programs. Ad-hoc software is available, such as those for the testing or plastic sectors or the custom library for EAS (Moog Electro-Hydrostatic Actuation System), synonymous with reduced development costs and integration times.
