Smart Solutions for Production Digitization
At Hannover Messe SEW-EURODRIVE will showcase a real automotive production line in which the installed components and solutions generate data. DriveRadar® offers users the opportunity to analyze these data intelligently and flexibly, thus increasing the overall availability of the system.

The smart manufacturing SEW-EURODRIVE has been implementing in the last few years, is now a real application for customers. At Hannover Messe, the huge effect this transformation is having on production will be showcased.
The example of the assembly line for the electric vehicle e.GO clearly shows how flexible automotive production is becoming. When Industry 4.0 technology is systematically implemented, processes become flexible, fast and customizable.
The example on show at SEW-EURODRIVE stand is a section of the automobile factory of the future – the e.GO manufacturing in Aachen – which the Bruchsal-based company is helping shape into a smart production line with mobile, intelligent and networked assistants in addition to a conventional electrified monorail system. Tle load handling devices (driven rollers) of the mobile assistants use the new compact low-voltage converters DCA from SEW-EURODRIVE. Other areas of the smple production line use the new CM3C servomotors and PxG precision planetary servo gear units. SEW-EURODRIVE DriveRadar® ensures that components, solutions and the entire system are monitored during operation. DriveRadar® offers intelligent and scalable services for smart factories, which significantly boost product, solutions and overall systems availability as part of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) concept. In the Smart Factory Office, interested parties can use virtual reality to plan their production facilities and enter them into virual reality where they can continue to modify them until they are perfectly optimized. Only then do they transfer their data from the virtual world to the real world, thus reducing errors and accelerating commissioning.
Novelties in the field of gear units
A number of novelties concern the field of high torque solutions too. SEW-EURODRIVE is showcasing the latest evolution of the X-Series gearboxes. The experience gained from a wide range of applications has flowed into the construction of gears, surfaces, temperature management, etc. The new X.e. series sets new standards. The solutions presented in the outdoor area are aimed at rotary kilns and agitators. But that’s not all, the exhibits lso covers, among other products large gearboxes.
